Amanda M. Winfree

Amanda is an associate with the firm and has worked in the Bankruptcy and Insolvency practice since joining the firm in 2004. Since joining the firm, Amanda has represented a broad variety of clients in complex Chapter 11 corporate bankruptcy proceedings, including debtors in possession, unsecured creditors’ committees, lenders, landlords, equipment lessors, liquidating trusts, and trade creditors, including appeals to the United States District Court for the District of Delaware and the Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.  In law school, Amanda served as Executive Editor of the Villanova Sports & Entertainment Law Journal and received the 2004 Outstanding Editorial Board Member Award. She also served as Legal Intern to the Honorable Mary F. Walrath, United States Bankruptcy Judge for the District of Delaware, during the summer of 2002. In 2006, Amanda was recognized by the Delaware Supreme Court as a recipient of the Exemplary Pro Bono Publico Service Award.

Representative Matters

Amanda's more recent matters include representation of: The Debtors in Broadstripe LLC; the Creditors Committees in the Qimonda, AFY Holdings and Mervyn's cases; the Senior Noteholders in the Tribune case; Goldman Sachs' affiliate, J. Aron & Co., as swap participant, lender and litigant in the SemCrude case; numerous litigation parties in the Atrium case; a creditor-appellant in a District Court appeal in the American Home Mortgage Holdings case; the Plan Administrator in the Cable & Wireless case; administrative expense claimants in the Global Homes Products case; and numerous defendants in adversary proceedings under section 547 of the Bankruptcy Code.
